The world accommodates you for fitting in, but only rewards you for standing out.

In a world that tells us to assimilate, to dim our light, to play small, The Somali Circle exists to remind you of your original blueprint. We're a circle of Somali entrepreneurs, builders, thinkers and creators all bound by one shared belief: your future won’t be saved by someone else. It’s up to us.

The mission

What you can’t see, you can’t become.

For years, we were forced to look through windows. Watching others lead, raise capital, build companies, and shape the world. We were almost never part of the picture. And when you’re never reflected in the spaces that shape the world, it’s easy to question if you even have a place there.

The Somali Circle is about building more mirrors in society. Mirrors that reflect who we are, what we’re capable of, and how far we’ve already come.

Our Story

Born from nomadic roots and forged in diaspora, The Somali Circle was created to bridge gaps in understanding and opportunity. What began as two founders seeking camaraderie has blossomed into a thriving community that uplifts Somali entrepreneurs across the globe.

Our Mission

To empower Somali entrepreneurs with the tools, systems, and authentic connections they need to launch, grow, and scale profitable ventures, side by side with peers who truly get the journey.

Our Vision

A world where every Somali entrepreneur has a tribe that celebrates their wins, helps them conquer obstacles, and inspires them to set new benchmarks of success.

Win with your people.

Co-founder

Guleed Afhakame

Guleed grew up in a nomadic tribe near Burco. When he moved to the Netherlands, he felt like an outsider. What began as a burden became his greatest strength: the ability to connect worlds and build communities rooted in culture.

With over ten years of marketing experience at brands like Nike, Ben & Jerry’s, Volvo, and Red Bull, Guleed mastered strategies that deliver real growth. When he realized these brands often harmed African communities, he left his role as Content Manager and founded Tribe Leaders—now the largest social media agency in the personal development space in the Netherlands.

By combining world-class brand strategies with his Somali values, Guleed built an agency that creates tribes, not just brands. Through The Somali Circle, he now shares his expertise to empower Somali entrepreneurs.

Co-founder

Jibril Qorane

After earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering, Jibril Qorane began building a career as an engineer but Allah had different plans. It started when he tutored the son of an adeer, and word quickly spread: Somali children were moving from 6s to 8s and 9s. What began as a simple favor became a calling.

Jibril founded Bijles is Kennis to turn that neighborhood initiative into a multi-city tutoring network. By designing scalable systems and automating key processes, he transformed one-on-one sessions into an organization that tackles educational inequality across the Netherlands.

As part of The Somali Circle, he guides entrepreneurs to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and unlock opportunities. His expertise in system design and goal-setting provides the tools needed to turn ambition into lasting success.
