Funding the next generation

of Somali Founders

The Goat Herders is a Shark Tank-style pitch competition for Somali founders, inspired by the silent negotiations under cloth of livestock markets.

In those markets, deals were made silently, hands under cloth,

based on trust. We’ve brought that same spirit to the startup world.

At the heart of The Goat Herders Pitch Series is a powerful

convergence of four grassroots communities building the future of Somali entrepreneurship.

The Somali Circle, Somalis in Tech, Somali Sideways join forces to scout untamed talent, amplify every story, and fund the next wave of Somali‑led innovation.

Funding. Community.

Mentorship.

We provide a space where your struggles are understood, your ambitions are celebrated, and your success becomes inevitable.

Top speakers

Learn from the best.

Hear from Somali founders who have pitched, built, and persevered, sharing lessons that inspire the next wave of entrepreneurs.

Pitches

Five finalists will take the stage to pitch their ideas to Somali investors who are ready to offer funding, mentorship, and long-term partnership.

The power of connection

Connect with founders, investors, and mentors in one powerful room. The right conversation could change your entire path.

Our mission

Our mission is to unlock the full economic power of Somali entrepreneurs across the world.

For generations, Somali founders have carried ambition, creativity, and resilience without access to the resources and support that others often take for granted. The Somali Circle exists to change that by building the community, knowledge, and capital that allow our people to thrive.

We connect founders across the diaspora, bringing together those who are just starting with those who have already built and led. We create spaces for mentorship, learning, and collaboration so that every Somali entrepreneur can grow with confidence and direction.

We believe entrepreneurship is one of the strongest tools for empowerment. Every Somali founder who succeeds creates opportunities for others, proving that when one person rises, an entire community rises with them.

Our vision

We envision a world where Somali-led businesses are visible, respected, and invested in. A world where Somali founders are not on the margins but at the center of innovation, leadership, and growth.

Our vision is to build a self-sustaining ecosystem grounded in trust and collaboration, where capital flows within the community and mentorship becomes part of our culture. We want to see Somali entrepreneurs create companies that shape industries, open doors, and set new standards for success.

We believe that Somali talent belongs on the global stage and that our shared story of resilience and creativity has the power to inspire generations to come. When Somali founders thrive, they lift families, communities, and entire nations forward.

Support somali Entrepreneurship

If you believe in what we are building, a future where Somali founders have the support, funding, and recognition they deserve, this is your moment to take part.

Your contribution helps us mentor new entrepreneurs, connect them with investors, and bring their ideas to life. You are helping real founders who are creating jobs, driving change, and building lasting legacies.

Whether you are a sponsor, a partner, or someone who simply wants to give back, your involvement strengthens a global network of Somali excellence. Together we can create a lasting foundation where Somali entrepreneurship continues to grow, inspire, and lead for generations to come.

ahmed farah

He is one of the most powerful voices in Somali cinema.
Ahmed Farah is an award-winning filmmaker whose work captures the soul, struggle, and strength of a people redefining their own image. His films have been screened at international festivals and praised for their honesty, emotion, and visual beauty.

His debut feature Ayaanle became Somalia’s official submission to the Academy Awards and introduced a new era of Somali storytelling to the world. His creative direction has reached global platforms such as BBC, Al Jazeera, and Netflix, where he continues to tell stories that bridge cultures and challenge perceptions.

At The Goat Herders Finale, Ahmed brings that same vision to life. He will be behind the camera documenting every moment of this landmark event and creating a YouTube series that follows the winners as they turn ideas into impact.

This is more than an event. It is the beginning of a story in motion, filmed by a director who has made it his mission to celebrate Somali identity through the power of film.

The circle that moves you forward

The biggest value of the Goat Herders Finale is the people in the room. You’ll meet Somali entrepreneurs who, just like you, are building, growing, and figuring it out as they go. These are founders who understand your journey because they’re living it too. You’ll share ideas, challenges, and solutions that actually make sense in your world.

It’s not just networking. It’s connection with people who speak your language, share your drive, and can open real doors for you. Some are just starting out, others are already scaling, but all of them believe in one thing: that Somali entrepreneurship deserves a bigger stage.

The conversations you have here can turn into partnerships, collaborations, or even investments.

This is your chance to be part of a growing community that helps each other move forward.
